At Beck’s Transport Training, we specialize in delivering heavy vehicle licence upgrades for ACT and NSW licence holders. Our mission is to provide quality training for individuals just starting their journey in the transport industry as well as seasoned drivers looking to enhance their skills and advance their careers. With experienced trainers who bring real-world industry knowledge, we are dedicated to supporting the future of the transport sector by raising professional standards and empowering drivers to succeed.

We offer comprehensive licence upgrade programs that adhere to state-mandated requirements, alongside nationally accredited courses and specialized transport consultancy services. Our consultancy offerings include verification of competencies (VOC) and tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of businesses and individuals within the transport sector.

Founded in October 2019 and becoming an incorporated company in February 2020, Beck’s is a proud, locally owned and operated family business.

Commitment to Mental Health and Wellbeing

Beck’s Transport Training has been an active advocate for mental health in the transport industry. Previously partnering with Health In Gear, we served as ambassadors to raise awareness of available support systems for transport workers and their families. We remain committed to promoting mental health services and resources, recognizing the critical impact of wellbeing on both drivers and their loved ones.

Driving Advocacy, Industry Standards, and Consultancy

Over the past five years, Beck’s has grown into a strong voice for the transport community in Canberra. We work closely with local government and industry associations to highlight the essential role of transport in the region and advocate for meaningful support for its workforce. Our focus areas include:

• Elevating the standards for heavy vehicle trainers and assessors.
• Advocating for updated heavy vehicle licensing information for ACT transport professionals.
• Promoting diversity and encouraging more women to choose transport as a viable, rewarding career path.
• Offering consultancy services to help clients optimize their operations, improve compliance, and ensure driver competency through customized VOC assessments.

At Beck’s Transport Training, we are more than a training provider—we are passionate advocates for progress, safety, and wellbeing within the transport industry.

Anthony has worked within the transport industry for over 20 years as a driver, with a working history with local Canberra companies as a heavy vehicle driver working on civil sites, fuel haulage and experience in the bus and coach industry. He is also an active member of the local ACT Rural Fire Service and has been for over 15 years. In 2018, Anthony became a heavy vehicle trainer and has been working as a trainer since. He has recently branched out his skills into audit and compliance for the transport industry. 

Anthony is an accredited trainer and assessor in both the ACT and NSW for heavy vehicle licence upgrades from LR to MC. Through our RTO partner, RAISE Training RTO Provider 91655, Anthony can also offer accredited heavy vehicle training, load restraint course as well as high risk licences and BFM training on behalf of Raise Training. 

Anthony also conducts verification of competencies for plant equipment as well as heavy vehicle drivers, which is an added peace of mind for clients who have recently recruited new staff or who wanting to identify areas of training and compliance for current staff. 

Anthony is an accredited NHVAS auditor with NHVR for Mass, Maintenance and Fatigue.

Kate is the Director of Becks and runs the day-to-day operations of Becks including sales, bookings and client management. Kate has previously worked in sales and administration in a variety of industries, which have included the recruitment industry, building & construction industry and IT industry. 

Since 2021, Kate has worked to understand the impact of the mental and physical health impacts in the transport industry and have worked alongside Health In Gear as an ambassador, helping provide information about the support systems that are available to the transport industry workers and their families. 

Kate has also been working to advocate for more support and recognition for the Canberra transport industry with local government as well as membership associations to raise the recognition of the industry that is in Canberra and the need to support those who are impacted. 

In particular, Kate has been focused on the standard of the training and assessment that is offered to heavy vehicle licence holders. This has included raising the awareness on the dangers of lack of quality training and assessment as well as the importance of a quality verification of competency.
